I’m a vivid lucid dreamer and since childhood I’ve been able to able to remember the places I visit in my dreams - otherworldly or even domestic places my mind reconstructs. Bits of the familiar warped with the unfamiliar. I call these dreamscapes. I’ve taken this experience and interpreted it into a visual representation of fantastical lands of whimsy; perspectives are inaccurate, colours unnatural. My process while creating these is very ad hoc. I start with no plan other than a vague vision that gets further influenced by the materials I have at my disposal. Each dreamscape is a mixed media piece of wonder.
Materials used range from paint, tissue paper, glitter, photographs, felt, cotton pads, string, ribbon, newspaper, fabric, food colouring, rhinestones etc.
